When The Sign Show launched at The Print Show last year, organisers pledged to deliver a show that would celebrate crafts right across the signage sector, both in terms of the companies exhibiting and added-value activities on the show floor. Fast-forward almost one year and the line-up of special features at The Print Show and The Sign Show 2025 is an attractive one. Covering everything from vehicle and architectural wrapping to traditional arts such as neon and traditional sign-making, visitors will be invited to learn more about these techniques and even try their hand at the crafts themselves. The ‘School of Wrap’, ‘Neon Insights’, and ‘Traditional Sign-Making Masterclass’ will all run throughout the event, under the guidance of hugely knowledgeable experts in each of their respective fields. All will be free to attend, with organisers encouraging attendees to get involved and experience areas of sign-making they may never have done in the past. Upping Your Wrap Game Organisers have billed the School of Wrap as the showpiece feature of The Sign Show 2025. Located at the centre of the show, this large area will be dedicated to both vehicle and architectural wrapping, allowing visitors to gain insight into these techniques, as well as speak with experts from both areas. The School of Wrap will be hosted in partnership with several wrapping specialists. CVi Group, a provider of industry-specific training programmes and contract labour within the wrapping sector, will be leading the vehicle graphics area, while Space Architectural Interior Films will showcase opportunities in architectural wrapping. All Print Supplies and Fedrigoni will also be supporting the area throughout the event. In addition, FESPA UK will feature on the area through its Waste Accreditation initiative, the industry standard for print, signage, and graphics in the UK. FESPA UK will be on hand to recycle any waste material that is generated from the demos and hands-on experience taking place across the area. Vehicle wrapping highlights at the inaugural edition of the School of Wrap include sessions on wrapping theory, such as preparation, film capabilities and the key factors to consider, as well as a closer look at the particular properties of vehicle wrap film. Visitors will also gain insight into install-specific tools and vehicle preparation methods, as well as the opportunity to view live demonstrations of tricky applications including wing mirrors. Traditional Thinking Just down the aisle from the School of Wrap will be Neon Insights, which, as its name may suggest, will allow visitors to explore the world of neon signage. Hosted in partnership with Neon Creations, this section of the event will allow visitors to learning about the techniques used to create these iconic pieces. Throughout The Sign Show, specialist workers from Neon Creations will shine a light on what neon actually is, speaking with visitors about the core differences between true neon and modern interpretations of neon, and the value traditional neon offers in the modern market. The final special area of the inaugural show will be the Traditional Sign-Making Masterclass, allowing visitors to gain insight into some of the timeless crafts and trades that have helped shape the sign industry. Leading this area will be David Mearns from SignMode, who is hugely passionate about sign-making and preserving traditional methods and regularly runs classes allowing people to get hands-on with traditional techniques such as signwriting. Visitors to the show will be treated to live demonstrations of crafts including signwriting, as well as screen printing on a flat table and on walls, and both water and transfer leaf gilding. Also, within this area of the show, visitors will have the chance to see small wooden items and learn more about the techniques of how these pieces are created. In addition, attendees will be able to try their hand at signwriting on white emulsion boards, with David on hand to offer hints and tips.
