From eye-catching applications and traditional techniques to the latest technologies and expert advice, The Sign Show 2026 had plenty to offer visitors across three busy days. We pick out some of the highlights from the three days at the NEC Signs of Success and Signs of Growth After a positive debut outing in 2025, the pressure was on organisers of The Sign Show to deliver another successful event that not only remained true to its signage focus but also tackled wider trends in the signage market. To address this, for the second year in a row, The Sign Show was co-located with The Print Show, the established, print-focused event that was celebrating its ten-year anniversary. As was the case in year one, this proved a shrewd move by organisers, with the double-header event allowing those with interest in both markets to explore the latest across signage and print. From traditional sign-making techniques and materials through to digital print, cutting, and finishing, there was plenty to discover across the show floor. SignLink spent three days in Hall 1 of the NEC, finding out more about the latest technology advancements, and speaking to exhibitors about the products, applications, and developments currently shaping the sector. Scope for Further Success Chris Davies, event director of The Sign Show and The Print Show, was full of praise for this year’s event, saying it built on year one and once again delivered for the sign industry. On this, he highlighted the range of exhibitors in attendance, the variety of solutions on display, and the in-show features. “There is no doubt that there is still appetite for an event dedicated to the signage market in the UK,” Davies says, adding: “We had a tremendous response to our launch event in year one and that has continued this year, with a high level of interest from all areas of the signage market. “I’m really pleased with how many people came to visit specifically for The Sign Show this year. Numbers have gone up since last year and we’ve had some really positive early feedback not only from exhibitors but from visitors across all three days. We will be back in 2027 with plans to grow the event with more exhibitors and special features, so watch this space over the coming months!” Before delving into the technology that was being showcased in Hall 1, there were several features running throughout the exhibition to explore. One of these was the returning Traditional SignMaking Masterclass, where, once again, visitors were invited to try their hand at signwriting. David Mearns of Signmode led the area, speaking with attendees about some of the most celebrated forms of sign-making and displaying his 50-year-old paint skin mountain from projects of years gone by. 20 email: editor@signlink.co.uk Issue 267 - October | November 2026 REVIEW
